Re: On the Signal Coms, Please Stop Talking!
“Ghosts of Watergate.” —Louisiana
“The fact that Goldberg did not immediately excuse himself from the chat indicates he would rather undermine the Trump administration and subvert national security for his own personal interest than do the right thing. He has committed one of the most execrable examples of unpatriotic journalistic dishonesty I’ve seen in my lifetime. If the board of the Atlantic Magazine has any integrity — which I seriously doubt — it will fire Goldberg.” —Kentucky
“Transparency is refreshing in the regime of over-classification. I would be more worried about insider subversion in this affair.” —California
“It is laughable watching the Democrats make a huge scandal out of the Signal situation when they just empowered extreme security risks by allowing the invasion of our country by millions of illegal immigrants, all of whom unvetted and some of whom were violent criminals — and no doubt terrorists among them.” —Pennsylvania
“I agree that the Hegseth response should have been better, but I think these are complex matters. Moreover, how do we know this leak wasn’t done maliciously? Not sure what the administration chess move would be by deliberately including Goldberg, but I will be interested to follow the upcoming investigation.” —Florida
Re: Does Trump Have Power Over Election Law?
“We here in the semi-great state of New Hampshire are still struggling with voting integrity. The core problem is how a resident is defined. Not only can students vote here (one was actually elected as a state rep; that fell apart during the WuFlu shutdown, as he wasn’t at school to respond to a letter regarding running for reelection), but you can sign an affidavit claiming residency so you don’t have to show a New Hampshire ID. A colored map was published after the last election. It was almost all red, accept around the cities and big colleges.” —New Hampshire
“While I agree with Trump’s intent, the only way to ensure it sticks is for Congress to pass a law reinforcing the Constitution per Article 1, Section 4. Of course, until we get a Supreme Court that has enough integrity to uphold the Constitution, I don’t know that it matters. Texas was absolutely correct in suing the several states that violated their own election laws in 2020. The Court then dodged by ruling that Texas ‘did not have standing.’” —Ohio
Re: Snow White and the Seven Woklings
“Rachel Zegler said the original was bad, as the prince ‘stalked’ Snow White. ‘Weird!’ was her take. Apparently, being attracted to and falling in love with someone is weird to her. I’m sure Zegler is a nice person. (OK, maybe not….) But has she looked in the mirror? She might be the ‘fairest of them all’ in how she treats dwarf and animal friends, but she is NOT the ‘fairest’ in complexion. Her facial features, motivated by her arrogant ‘girl boss’ attitude, simply detract from whatever attractiveness she might have had otherwise. The real Snow White is kind and sweet and loving and gentle and patient and attrative (for a cartoon). What a lame attempt and a crying shame!” —Wisconsin
“Andrew Cuomo denies the deadly effects of his personally signed COVID order for the elderly in New York City. Can he explain the prohibition of COVID testing for the patients forcibly transferred out of hospitals and into nursing homes, where insufficient care and treatment was proximal to their deaths? Can he explain the very large, well-recorded campaign donations he received from the trade organization of nursing-home owners? Did the fact that COVID-related deaths resulted in hefty payments by the federal government influence his signing of this order? New Yorkers clearly thought so. I guess the character of sons rarely diverges from that of their fathers. Mario the Maleficent would have been proud of his offspring’s coup.” —New York
Re: SNAP and Shilling for Big Soda
“If you pay attention at the grocery checkout, you’ll see that unhealthy foods available with SNAP aren’t limited to sugary drinks. Maybe means testing should be used to determine eligibility for SNAP. Not income means testing, but a family’s average weight above or below the CDC’s guidelines for healthy weight. For example, if a family’s weight is, say, 15% above the mean healthy weight, they won’t be eligible for SNAP. And it wouldn’t hurt if unhealthy foods were removed from the list.” —New Mexico
Re: Belly Laugh of the Week: No ‘Political Bias’ at NPR
“Other than providing GOP senators with soundbites, there was no logical reason for the hearing to take place. Put NPR and PBS out of their misery and stop federal funding. If it can’t be done this fiscal year, allocate no funds to them in next fiscal year’s budget. It really is that simple!” —California
“Given her left-wing bent, I am sure that even when she is denigrating the conservative side, Katherine Maher probably believes what she claims when she says ‘that NPR consistently delivers "unbiased, nonpartisan, fact-based reporting to Americans.”’ I have no doubt she, and others of similar bent, fully believe their left-wing claptrap is middle-of-the-road, unbiased reporting.“ —Ohio
Re: Homeschooling in the Black Community
"Public education for any child in America has been degraded to the point of ridiculous. The DOE is putting money in the pocket of donors and criminals who scam the system. Mr. Hampton is correct in his thoughts. Color should have no place in education, but our so-called educators don’t care. Education money should follow the student no matter what.” —Wyoming
Re: Profiles of Valor: A Marine’s Marine — Lewis ‘Chesty’ Puller
“This was one of the best profiles of my hero I have read. Alexander is correct — this upgrade to a Medal of Honor is long overdue. Thank you, fellow Patriots, and Semper Fi!” —California
