Ambassadors to Hollywood: Revitalizing the American Art Form

President Trump taps three conservative A-listers to be his Tinseltown envoy.

Today is President Donald Trump’s inauguration, and he’s been making some interesting pop culture moves in the lead-up to this day. Trump is not only fighting to rescue TikTok, but he’s also sending ambassadors to Hollywood, specifically to the glitterati elite who overwhelmingly voted for Kamala Harris.

On January 16, Trump posted this on his Truth Social account: “It is my honor to announce Jon Voight, Mel Gibson, and Sylvester Stallone, to be Special Ambassadors to a great but very troubled place, Hollywood, California. They will serve as Special Envoys to me for the purpose of bringing Hollywood, which has lost much business over the last four years to Foreign Countries, BACK — BIGGER, BETTER, AND STRONGER THAN EVER BEFORE! These three very talented people will be my eyes and ears, and I will get done what they suggest. It will again be, like The United States of America itself, The Golden Age of Hollywood!”

Jon Voight, Mel Gibson, and Sylvester Stallone — stars of a plethora of American classics — are still recognizable A-listers. The president is wise for trying to make inroads with the Hollywood crowd, as they are still major players in the cultural zeitgeist. Trump has had success in other leftist bastions such as Silicon Valley, so why not Hollywood as well?

Movies are the American art form, and the fact that studios have decided to no longer use that art form to promote traditional Americanism is a crying shame. In fact, many of the products of the industry today promote envy, vice, and amorality.

A case in point would be the most recent Golden Globes. What won Best Picture was a film called “Emilia Pérez.” It’s a musical about a Mexican cartel drug lord who wants to change genders. It was up against “Wicked” — the biggest movie of the year — and yet “Emilia Pérez” won because of the wokeness hierarchy. By coronating a transgenderism-centered musical, the corrupt award board offended absolutely everyone, Mexico and GLAAD included.

This is what Tinseltown thinks is good art. It wants to preach to and force its bad ideas onto audiences, then pat itself on the back for being “virtuous” while offending everyone.

It goes back to the question, What is good art? In the television world, our studios have veered so far off the mark that they are squandering the one truly American art form. They are making trash and hoping people will still give them money.

Americans want good movies, good shows, and good art. We want beauty and truth as well, and those ideals have largely been missing elements. It’s also interesting that President Trump, a man with a very successful TV show as part of his résumé, sees that Hollywood needs an intervention and some bridge-building between itself and the rest of the country.

Perhaps by freeing Hollywood from its own DEI and wokeness, good art will be made again.
