Waking Up to the Green Dream Nightmare
It’s time for the U.S. to jettison the green energy scam.
The great green boondoggle on energy won’t die because it is not motivated by reason, science, or economic reality. The green crusade, like the Crusades of centuries ago, has much more to do with an ideological belief. Indeed, it’s why we refer to it as a climate change cult.
Like all cults, it’s focused on top-down control from elite leaders, adhering to and serving those leaders’ interests irrespective of the negative impact on the masses.
Take Europe, for instance. Its leaders exemplify this top-down forced adoption of the green dream cult among the populace. With self-righteous indignation, they condemn fossil fuels as a climate-killing evil while continuously extolling the virtues of inherently inferior renewables.
Not only are wind and solar demonstrably less reliable, but they produce less energy and cost more to produce the equivalent amount of energy compared to fossil fuels. That’s one reason why fossil fuels are demonized as morally evil. If they’re killing the planet, the “logic” goes, we have to change, even if it’s costly.
However, does anyone care about the negative impact of less affordable and less abundant energy on Europe’s citizens? Is this also not a moral concern? Are Europe’s leaders not guilty of abusing their citizenry in service to the climate change idol? Even more insidious, are they not subjugating their citizenry to a future of needless deprivation and great want and even poverty, all in the pursuit of their own impossible and vain goal of controlling the earth’s climate?
Affordable and abundant energy is the reason why the West has prospered. It is one of the primary keys to raising third-world countries to the level of developed nations. Furthermore, with the future increasingly being digital, the development of AI and robotics means increasing amounts of low-cost, abundant energy will be required for any nation that seeks to advance and compete in this burgeoning economy.
Unfortunately, Europe’s leaders can’t seem to let go of their climate god. Come hell or high water, they will force their populations into the net-zero nightmare.
Thankfully, with the election of Donald Trump, the U.S. has begun reversing course and has stopped bowing to the climate cult.
The truth is that renewable energy sources are not more moral or ethical than fossil fuels. The Biden administration put its thumb on the scale, propping up the green energy industry while at the same time suppressing the fossil fuel industry. Yet the truth remains that fossil fuels are simply cheaper, more abundant, and more reliable — and in many ways, they have a better impact on the local environment than renewables.
The climate cult looks at energy creation as a zero-sum game, with the ultimate metric being whether or not carbon emissions are produced. Having declared emissions bad or sinful, they simply have to note that fossil fuel-based energy production results in emissions; therefore, we must eventually stop using them altogether. Nonsense.
As we have repeatedly observed, politicians pushing the green agenda are actually motivated by broadening government control. By declaring carbon emissions dangerous and negative, they can justify imposing new regulations to better control, contain, and limit them, all while preaching the need to fight climate change.
But it now looks like more and more Americans have woken up to the climate change gambit. They see that the better way forward is rejecting the climate cult dogma and instead embracing an all-of-the-above option when it comes to energy production, whether renewables, nuclear, or fossil fuels, because future advancement will require abundant, cheap energy.
