‘Republicans Cannot Know a Moment of Peace’
The governor of Illinois, JB Pritzker, represents yet another side in the Democrat civil war.
Illinois Governor JB Pritzker is making the rounds at Democrat dinners and getting his name out there. On Sunday, he was in New Hampshire, where he gave a 30-minute speech during which he antagonized both conservatives and Democrats alike.
“Never before in my life have I called for mass protests, for mobilization, for disruption. But I am now,” he said. “These Republicans cannot know a moment of peace! They have to understand that we will fight their cruelty with every megaphone and microphone that we have. We must castigate them on the soapbox and then punish them at the ballot box.”

Democrats love their violence, so Pritzker calling for physical force isn’t the big shocker I think he was expecting it to be. It’s also not the first time that he has publicly called for violence. In late March, he urged LGBTQ+ activists to become “street fighters” because President Trump is fighting for women’s rights and women’s sports.
Sidebar: Pritzker’s “never know peace” comment was reminiscent of the language that disgraced actress Rachel Zegler of “Snow White” infamy used in a controversial tweet that she was later made to apologize for.
The Illinois governor is on the “Donald Trump is a Nazi” bandwagon, and he has apparently been calling for resistance since the moment he saw the tide turning conclusively against Kamala Harris on election night. According to The New York Times: “As worrisome results from Virginia began rolling into cable news networks early on election night, he shifted into battle mode for what he called Trump 2.0, according to a person briefed on the discussions. Two days after the election, Mr. Pritzker told reporters that his administration ‘was not unprepared’ for a Trump victory. The planning had begun months earlier as his state stockpiled abortion medication and prepared to sue the federal government.”
This fight against Trump has been seen in other ways as well, with Pritzker plotting to thwart ICE and keep violent illegal immigrants in his sanctuary state.
As for insulting the Democrats, he said: “Fellow Democrats, for far too long we’ve been guilty of listening to a bunch of do-nothing political types who would tell us that America’s house is not on fire, even as the flames are licking their faces. Today, as the blaze reaches the rafters, the pundits and politicians — whose simpering timidity served as kindle for the arsonists — urge us now not to reach for a hose.”
Who are the “do-nothing” Democrats? That isn’t outright stated, but one can assume he’s lashing out at strategists like James Carville, who has repeatedly told Democrats to back away from unpopular issues like transing the kids. Perhaps Pritzker was leveling his rhetorical guns at California Governor Gavin Newsom, who is great at talking but also running his state into the ground (something that Pritzker and Newsom have in common). Carville and Newsom represent the dying era of Barack Obama’s coalition. That big tent has well and truly collapsed. Pritzker’s ire toward his fellow Democrats underlines the civil war that is going on in the party right now.
Pritzker might be considered part of the more radical wing of the Democrat Party now that he is outright calling for political harassment. Considering that Marxist radicals like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez are the face of the Democrat Party right now, his rhetoric definitely skews him toward that side.
Pritzker, though, is an amalgamation of both the Democrat old guard and new guard. He’s an established, wealthy politician — one of the few billionaires Democrats respect — while on the other hand he is setting himself up to be President Trump’s foil and calling for harassment.
It’s an interesting pitch. If this is Pritzker’s way of keeping his name in the public eye so that he can launch a presidential bid in 2028, he succeeded. But for Democrats, this is just more bad news. Regardless of which candidate they nominate, all modern-day Democrat policies taken to their logical conclusion end in disaster and ruination. No rational voter wants the U.S. to become like California or Illinois or New York. People are actively fleeing those states because the blue governors who run them make them unlivable.
Watching the Democrats double down on their most unpopular talking points is something to see. They have a dismal approval rating due to violence and championing 80-20 issues like transgenderism and illegal immigration. As a conservative, one can only hope they continue to make these political mistakes and alienate the independent voters until they become irrelevant.
